Staying Calm And Thankful During Family Gatherings

We’re serving Gratitude all this month at Tapa Palapa.

Today’s special is finding ways to feel thankful when you’re stressed out by family gatherings. It’s served in three courses.

The first course is about maintaining some predictability in your schedule and including the touchstones that give you comfort and connection when your normal routine is disrupted by preparation, hosting, and activities for family gatherings.

The second course gives you tips for handling the demands that festivities put on your time, energy, and finances so you don’t get drained.

The third course is a pretty hearty one – how to navigate family dynamics and possible conflicts with grace and humor.

Don’t forget to try the gratitude journal idea from last week’s show. During times of increased stress like many of us experience during the busy holidays it can fortify you by refocusing you on appreciation and fulfillment.

After you listen please leave a comment or ask a question below.

The “Family Bingo” card can be found under the “Resources” tab at the top of the page, or directly here . Try it out and let us know how it works for you.

  3. Hey, I am checking this blog using the phone and this appears to be kind of odd. Thought you’d wish to know. This is a great write-up nevertheless, did not mess that up.
